ABOUT US

Originally called the Ladner Sediment Group founded in 2008 by John Roscoe and Michael Owen. The purpose of this group was and still is, to collaborate with all levels of Government to preserve the secondary channels and ensure save navigation for both commercial and private vessels in the Ladner area. The work will continue with the recently formed South Fraser River Enhancement Society, an incorporated non-profit society.

OUR PURPOSE

The South Fraser River Enhancement Society (SFRES) is dedicated to protecting, restoring, and enhancing the waterways and surrounding environments of the South Fraser River. Our goal is to ensure these channels remain safe, navigable, and ecologically healthy for the communities, industries, and wildlife that depend on them. Through collaboration with local residents, government agencies, and environmental partners, we advocate for sustainable management practices that balance environmental stewardship with economic and recreational needs.
